Northampton Town striker Courtney Herbert has joined Cambridge United on loan for the rest of the season.
Herbert had a fruitful start to his Northampton career scoring two goals in his first four games but since then he has struggled to hit the goal trail since.
Town manager Gary Johnson an ex U's boss, said "Courtney is still learning the game so it will be good for him to go to Cambridge and get some games in".
Herbert, who will be available to caretaker manager Jez George for Saturday's six pointer against Forest Green, is looking for first team opportunities and is hoping that Cambridge can provide it.
Cambridge caretaker boss Jez George enthused "Courtney is very quick and that is something we lack so he will give us a different option".
Herbert, who chose Cambridge ahead of a couple of other clubs, may start up front with Danny Wright but will be hard pushed to replace the in form Liam Hughes.
