KIDDERMINSTER H 0-0 CAMBRIDGE UNITED

Cambridge United were held to a goaless draw at Aggborough by Kidderminster Harriers. United who have been in great form as of late were coming into the game on the back of a midweek FA Cup defeat against Wrexham.

United were hoping to continue they fantastic league form which has seen them lose once in more than fifteen games. Last time out they drew with rivals Luton Town.

Jez George made a couple of changes to his line up. Jonathan Thorpe came in at right back for the injured Kevin Roberts. Peter Winn came back into the team in place of Harrison Dunk. Liam Hughes retained his place up front with Luke Berry suffering from a broken nose.

Cambridge were expecting a tough game against a recently in form Kiddy.

The first ten minutes saw end to end stuff starting with a nasty foul on Liam Hughes. Kiddy got away with it as they did with the incident which came in the eleventh minute. Kidderminster keeper Breeden came racing out of his area and seem to handle outside the box with winger Peter Winn about to pounce. Unfortunately for Cambridge the keeper was only given a yellow card when it could easily have been red.

The moments that followed saw United take charge of the game with Carew being prominent twisting and turning his way down the wing. United's dominance was rewarded on twenty five minutes when they were given a penalty. Vaughan was adjudged to of handled. Carew stepped up and tamely shot which Breeden saved well turning round the post for a corner.

It seemed tough luck on United with the man who saved the penalty should not have been on the pitch with the added double whammy with no keeper on the Kiddy bench meaning had the keeper gone off an outfield player would have had to deputise.

Before the break The U's had a let off when Guinan hit the bar with a nice lob. United would have felt hard done by not having the advantage and not having the extra man.

The early exchanges of the second half were quiet. On the hour Cambridge made their first change with the ineffective Peter Winn making way for Jordan Patrick. Kiddy brought on ex Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie. The following period proved quite even with both sides enjoying possession. Kidderminster were next to come close when Gittens hit the woodwork with a decent chance. Rory McAuley then replaced the injured Jonathan Thorpe who had taken a knock a while before.

The final passage of play saw Cambridge take the upper hand with substitutes Jordan Patrick and Keiran Murtagh along with Ashley Carew at the heart of things. Unfortunately for both sides they had to be happy with a point.
