Cambridge United continued their fine form in pre season with a easy win over near neighbors Histon at the Glassworld Stadium.
In the bright sunshine Cambridge seemed to start off in quick fashion trying to dominate the game. After forcing a couple of early saves The U's took the lead when Adam Marriott took advantage of a awful clearance from the Histon's Stadelmann and slotted home on 17 minutes. This gave United the cushion they needed to put their game plan together.

As the U's upped their play, Histon struggled to muster any worthwhile chances and forward Riza and Holman were badly starved of decent service. Mid first half things went from bad to worse for Histon when Hawkins hauled down the impressive Ashley Carew. The midfielder then dusted himself off and slotted home the penalty.
With the game going away from Histon, old boy Danny Naisbitt was tested by a Stephenson shot which didn't cause the keeper much bother.
As half time approached the Ambermen went further ahead when Conal Platt produced a lovely curling finish to send his side in with a comfortable lead.
The second half failed to produce much but Cambridge manager Jez George will be happy with his side's continuing pre season form.
