CAMBRIDGE UTD 0-1 FLEETWOOD TOWN

Cambridge United lost their final game of the season to Fleetwood Town at the R Costings Abbey Stadium.

The defeat did not have any effect on the U's standing in the Blue Square Premier with their status already been confirmed over the Easter period where they picked up four points out of six.

Alex-Ray Harvey's second-half strike ensured Fleetwood finished their season on a high.

Keigan Parker went close for the visitors but his shot was turned away by U's keeper Danny Naisbitt.

Conal Platt and Adam Marriott both went close for Cambridge but their strikes were kept out by Scott Davies.

After Platt wasted another chance they were punished when Harvey struck after latching onto Peter Cavanagh's pass.

After the match Cambridge caretaker manager Jez George said " I still haven't decided whether to take the permanent position".
